ZhejiangUniversity, Hangzhou, China, which builds on the workshops successfully organized in Beijing, 2014 and Raleigh, 2015, respectively. The origin, evolution, maintenance of biodiversity is among fundamental themes of life sciences. The similarity of biota between China and US has been fascinated ecologists and evolutionary biologists for centuries. The advances were further fueled by the reinforcement of financial support in terms of biodiversity/dimension projects in the last five years. It is timely to summarize progress and to discuss how to better coordinate and deepen the collaboration. This workshop will bring together experts in biodiversity to highlight successful examples of collaboration, discuss frontier issues in Sino-US biodiversity, and promote innovative approaches and new opportunities for collaborative studies. Mini-talks in topical groups will communicate expertise and interest among the participants and facilitate new linkages and ideas.
